3 Signs It’s Time to Sell Your Home

If you’re looking to sell your home, you may be looking for the perfect time to do so. The thing is, there is no “perfect” time.” Instead, there are times when it makes the most sense. Whether you’re looking for a change of scenery or your living needs have shifted, it’s natural to move on from your current home.

For more than 13 years, I’ve helped individuals and families move on from their old house into the home of their dreams. Knowing when the right time to move is tricky, but here are some signs that indicate you’re ready.

Space Limitations

Your first house may have been the perfect place for you to settle down as a first-time homeowner. However, as time moves on and life changes occur, you may be looking for something a little bigger.

If you’re planning on starting a family in the future, you’ll need a larger house to accommodate your family’s needs. Furthermore, if you plan on making your home a multi-generational household, purchasing a home with several bedrooms and bathrooms will be imperative.

No Longer Like the Area

As life changes, your needs and preferences are bound to change with it. You may look to sell your home because you are no longer content with the area.

There are a number of reasons why you may no longer want to live in your neighbourhood; for example, you live on a traffic-heavy street, your neighbours are too loud, you live too far away from your work, you don’t live in close proximity to important institutions like clinics, drug stores, or dental offices, etc. If any of the points mentioned above relate to you, you should reach out to a local real estate in your area as soon as possible.

Tired of Extensive Maintenance

Home maintenance is a big job, and it can become a burdensome task over time. When you first purchased your home, you may have been excited to take care of your front yard, backyard and interior; however, you may have grown tired of that responsibility and no longer want to fulfill those duties anymore. If this applies to you, now would be an ideal time to sell your home. You don’t want to burn yourself out – owning your home should be a fun and rewarding experience, and if maintenance responsibilities are causing you stress, don’t delay your search for a new home.

Each homebuyer I’ve encountered has had unique needs and preferences, and I’m committed to helping you find the home the best fits your lifestyle. If you have any questions or concerns when selling your home, contact Gail Bouw today!
